Yeah, I pretty much said "99.5 or thereabouts".

I knew I'd hit around there, and I'm veeeery happy. :) Especially with my shiny Monash Engineering Scholarship!

eriny, well done on your marks. you're still trying to get into PhB arts, aren't you? you should fax them your UMEP result, because it was clearly quite excellent. i don't your ENTER won't immediately get you in - for PhB science, there were 3-4 people with ENTERs below 99, but the rest were above - but your UMEP score will definitely help you, as will a good application form (good references and all that).

Oh wow, thanks. I actually thought that the PhB was completely out of the question now. I faxed my UMEP results to them on Thursday :) so I guess I can still hope?

ahmad, well done as well, especially in UMEP maths (though you didn't get as good a score as the girl who got 99 last year, heh). how was the exam this year? surely not as hard as last years?

The exam wasn't as hard, but I think there was a proof question only I managed to get. Which knocked most peoples mark down a few percent more and gave me the edge, 2nd was 93% etc.

Not really in my defence, but more out of curiosity, didn't they scale last years exam because it was too hard? Or did that girl end up with 99% on the exam, raw?  :)

i'm not sure what her raw mark was. because they definitely did scale marks. but the fact that she got 99 and the next highest was leachy with 90 (and leachy is a maths gun), then me and some girl with 89, suggests that she was a league above the rest...

oooh, tell me about this proof question.

That's impressive! :) I don't have the question with me, but I'm sure soon enough it will be on the unimelb site, along with the rest of the exam.

yeah, you can definitely hope. i'm not sure how difficult it is to get into PhB arts - science has like 30 people getting through each year, but i think it's only about 10-15 for arts. but i'm guessing arts has much fewer applicants...

but yeah. you'll be on the fringe, probably...

well done everyone!!!

and i only come to realise 2day how hard it is to get over 40, and a score of >35 is pretty damn good! lolz I will have to rethink all my SS and ENTER predictions now, =P
08 FTW! (hopefully next year they wont be as harsh in marking and scaling as this year)

well done again everyone!

I'm pretty sure Physics would have had a high A+ cutoff, because everyone came out of the exam saying it was very easy
