so  i ate at the cammy shanghai dumpling place...its not as bad as everyone says it is... and the health code violations well i dont know... but the dumplings were fantastic and the blindness was temporary.

(no but seriously i think i got a new favourite place to eat)

I can recommend Red Silk on Bourke.  They have some really nice modern contemporary Asian cuisine.  Noodles and rice dishes are around $8 for a fairly descent serve. I think the meat and seafood dishes are a little more expensive.

SushiSun on Victoria Street also has amazing sushi, and they also do meals.

If you guys are going to Melbourne uni, I would NOT recommend buying a sandwhich from the sandwhich shop (I was given a chicken sandwhich, where the chicken was raw) or the curry shop next to the burger shop (A friend of mine got food poisoning).

The bar sells chicken parmajanas for $8 (good meal), but apart from that I would either get your lunch from the city or bring your own lunch.

i went there the other day and the dumplings were massive so i was impressed but then when u take a bite its like 50% full/hollow with the filling =.=

Hanaichi in QV seems alright. It's basically DonDon with much better seating. $6 or so for Katsudon ($8 for large), and there's a few other things too.
