oh the days when i was younger and used to end words with the letter "z" when it was clearly not meant to be there...... and use exclamation marks much more than needed............ goshz i was cool XP

edit: Btw OP if your last option is maccas then take it, a job is better than no job if you really need one. Just keep looking after even if you take the maccas job

I was extremely lucky to score a job at Coles. I waited until after exams as well and handed out heaps of resumes! The only place that seemed interested in hiring was coles and two days later I got a call, had an interview and managed to score the job. It was the only place that has rang me since I handed out my resumes because most of the stores told me they had hired their casuals two months before. 

However, I have had experience of two jobs already because I have been working since I was 12 years old (basketball referee) and also another job in which I have worked at for over two and a half years. Perhaps give Maccas a go and gain experience, work there for a couple of months and hand out resumes a month before easter in which they start to hire more casuals again. You are more likely to get a job having had experience because you will be able to easily discuss examples of when you have displayed good team work and what your work ethics are when you go for an interview.

Well, I actually took everyone's advice but you said something that really caught my eye and that was the quote in my first post in this thread. 

maybe ur resume looks a bit dull... and looks like what everyone else would write.... i dunno

Probably.  I mean, some of the things I thought would be eye-catching would be:

1.  I held various leadership positions at school,
2.  Participated in co-curricular activities such as sport
3.  I have a first aid certificate
4.  Year 10 work experience (nothing special but still put that in).

Of course I put them in categories and added a little bit more info.

Yeah, I had the interview today and got accepted at Macca's.  I've got the orientation this Saturday and then after that, I'll be rostered.  Hopefully I'll get something out of it besides grease and Ajax.    lol

I'm sure it won't be too bad, one of my friends really enjoys maccas because she loves the people she works with and she can get heaps of hours and therefore, heaps of cash!!
My other friend though worked there for a week and resigned on the spot during a shift, when they asked her to clean the toilets lol. She certainly doesn't like getting her hands dirty.

Anyway looks like we both have new jobs. I'm working at the deli in coles and start tommorow! My parents are extremely concerned that I'm going to cut my fingers off with the meat slicer. Crossing fingers this does not happen.

Thanks.  I doubt you're going to cut your finger off because I don't think they'll let you use the meat slicer unsupervised on your first shift.  Good luck with your new job.

I've worked at Maccas and KFC.  When you are just starting out they usually give you the cleaning-up jobs like wiping the tables and emptying the trash. 

And indeed you end the day smelling like shit and having a layer of grease on your skin.  It's pretty disgusting.

did you know the GRAVY is made out of LEFT OVER skin, grease and oil? According to a person I know that works at KFC.....but it tastes so good *sulks*
