=( ok.... i guess ill be going earlier....

i have online tickets do i have to go to the ticket place? or just go to the cinema
If you're going to IMAX, you can buy the tickets online from imaxmelbourne.com.au or something like that. All you do is enter your credit card details and print out a receipt with a barcode, and they scan it before letting you into the cinema.
Also, get there about 1 hr early if you want good seats and 45 min early if you want to take a chance. Get there 30 min early and you're pretty much out of luck for good seats =\ (second time I went, I went 30 min early and the queue had already gone up the stairs but that's kind of due to people at the front of the queue, seeing people they recognise and letting them jump the queue. Pft. )

They were really, really one-dimensional. It was pocahontas with dreadful characters, no cool music and good graphics. Oh, and more holes in the stoyline.

lol i watched it today, and really enjoyed it. it was slightly cliched (i got a bit sick of the main girl screaming every 10 minutes), but it more than made up for it by the ideas raised, plot, graphics etc. great movie

apparently its now highest earning film ever by a long way...

no cool music
I thought the music was great. Especially when the World Tree was falling down and the Na'vi were perishing in the inferno. It's not the best, but good enough for me to download the OST.

Oh, and more holes in the stoyline.
What plot holes? I didn't pick up any glaring plot holes.

It's actually been dropping slightly in IMDB rating since it premiered, but I think IMDB ratings have lost most of their credibility anyway.
(while their forums have lost all credibility) :P
When The Dark Knight (TDK) opened, heaps of TDK fans gave The Godfather 1 star votes, so that the Dark Knight would usurp its #1 ranking. In retalation, The Godfather fans gave TDK 1 star ratings. The result of the mutually assured destruction was that both TDK and The Godfather lost the #1 ranking and The Shawshank Redemption stole the spot. Afterwards, TDK and Godfather fans restored each other's ratings in a bid to combat The Shawshank Redemption.

I bet heaps of overzealous StarWars fans downvoted Avatar to ensure StarWars retained #1 sci-fi flick.

It definitely seems that way, considering Avatar opened at like No. 25 on the chart or something like that.
I'm still shellshocked after seeing The Departed at No. 51 (GTFO this chart)! :P

Well firstly, last I heard it only ranks well in the "highest grossing" when you don't adjust for inflation, and if you don't adjust for inflation it really means nothing.

Main plot hole I found

-How on Earth can it not cost more to send a whole bunch of people and equipment into space for 3 years, pay them a wage that makes it worth going into space for 3 years, pay for these highly expensive avatars and wage a major war than the actual price they'll get for the ununium?
-They never really explained why the chief decided that Jake was alright. The only reason he had for changing his mind was that he said he was a "warrior". People have been trying for 3 years to get these people's trust, and all you had to do was say you are a warrior? Also, what benefit does it bring these people to take this guy on and teach him the ropes?
-Why the fuck do these people have tails? They don't seem to have any real use and they only seem to get in the way
-Why does nobody punch the main guy in the face? Also, how could any female possibly like him? Or male actually....
