You should have a gander at the O-Week thread.

I'm just gonna go to the compulsory things, and some info sessions to fill in the gaps.

I'm sorry, I just always wanted to use the word gander.

Yeah you can change out of it. But the chances are, if you change out of that timeslot and decide you want to go back to having that time at a later date, you won't get back in.

Do you know if there's any way to check what's full and what's not at this stage?

No,  only tomorrow when you get to change, or maybe tonight at 11pm or so....

Yeah I think it opens for changes at 12am tonight.

I am really annoyed because I changed one of my subjects almost two weeks ago and it still hasn't been approved. Because of that, there's a subject on my timetable that I'm not even doing! I rang the student centre about it yesterday and they were like, "we're trying to get to it but we have about 5000 other requests etc". Argh, so annoying.

I changed one of my breadths last night after timetables came out, and just received a confirmation email of approval. My new subject also appears on my newest timetable instead of the old one. Did you change your subject via the 'admin' tab -> add/drop/change subject tool from your student portal? Maybe try again.

Yeah I changed it through that. Maybe it's just the Arts student centre that has a huge backlog of requests to change subjects?

Just a question...when the timetables are open for changing, is it first in best dressed? Like will we have to wait till midnight tonight to give ourselves the best chances of getting into the times we want?

Definately some room for improvement in my timetable. Currently I'm going in everyday which I'd really rather not do, and more than half my lectures/tutes start at 4pm or later.

I think I'm going to try to fit as much in on monday, tuesday and wednesday as I can, to free up the weekend for study and recreation.
