Isn't the tea party like ultra conservative or something... don't really lean to conservativism well socially anyway... economically is another matter

You sure it was that high?

I have no idea how we can wipe off 50 billion dollars so quickly

Reading on wikipedia and i dont really like what i see:
"A University of Washington poll of 1,695 registered voters in the State of Washington reported that 73% of Tea Party supporters disapprove of Obama's policy of engaging with Muslim countries, 88% approve of the controversial immigration law recently enacted in Arizona, 82% do not believe that gay and lesbian couples should have the legal right to marry, and that about 52% believed that "lesbians and gays have too much political power"

"They're AstroTurf (fake grass roots) events, manufactured by the usual suspects. In particular, a key role is being played by FreedomWorks, an organization run by Richard Armey."[96] Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-California) stated "It's not really a grassroots movement. It's astroturf by some of the wealthiest people in America to keep the focus on tax cuts for the rich instead of for the great middle class."[97] In an August 2010 article in The New Yorker, Jane Mayer said that the billionaire brothers, David H. Koch and Charles G. Koch, and Koch Industries are providing financial support to the tea party movement through Americans for Prosperity.[98]

The New York Times describes the Kochs as founders of the Americans for Prosperity, which they say has supported the Tea Party movement.[99] Former ambassador Christopher Meyer writes in the Daily Mail that the Tea Party movement is a mix of "grassroots populism, professional conservative politics, and big money", the latter supplied by Charles and David Koch.[100][unreliable source?] David Koch of Koch Industries, who sits on AFP's Board of Directors, has help fund a number of Tea Party causes. His group is identified as one of the key groups, with FreedomWorks, behind the April 15, 2009 national tea party events. Its Hot Air Tour organized to fight against taxes on carbon use and the activation of a Cap and Trade program.[101][unreliable source?]"

(not attempting to take it out of context or slander them or anything if it looks that way)

there was some allegations of racism in there too...

They dont seem like theyre for me

I'm more to the left i guess id call what i think Third way or social democracy haven't read very extensively though so im not really able to categorise it that well

supporting the welfare state naaa

some of the tea party candidates were good... some were not so good... but really the tea party is a broad brush for the people who were disgruntled at government... so they weren't all the 'ron paul' type
oh and btw ron paul smashed it with 78% of the vote keeping his seat!

but i doubt the few senators and house members who are new are actually do anything substantial to cut government spending... but it doesn't really matter with helicopter ben going to buy 600 billion dollars of government debt

welfare state is a loaded term really that kind of gets negative connotations my definition is probably different from yours but i think we should have universal health care. Thats one of my number one political values... the american system is really rather terrible

http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,3978.0.html these videos are good
and you think the australian healthcare system is really great? and you think this new healthcare reform is going to make it better? http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1392741/Health-care-reform-bills-to-be-debated
i think the only group of doctors that are opposed to the involvement of government in medicine is this group http://www.privatedoctors.com.au/
but really the ideas that ron paul espouses don't get talked about in australian media or really by the politicians so i go abroad to check it out
