Hi, i was just wondering whether i could get an idea, as to what the general summarized strengths and weaknesses of Parliament as a law maker are. I have a good understanding of the concepts, but i was wondering if anyone could summarize it better, preparing for a practice SAC tomorrow =]. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The sovereignty of parliament is illustrated by The Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) overriding the common law created by the decision of the "Mabo Case" of 1992.

I don't have a case pertaining to it, but The Cybercrime Act 2001 (Cth) is probably a good example of the weaknesses of Parliament bcoz:
(a) it illustrates the lag of law-making by Parliament
(b) it illustrates the fact that Parliament's non-expertise in the issues it creates law on can cause problematic, unforeseen effects.
(see: http://www.efa.org.au/Issues/Privacy/cybercrimeact.html 2 get a rough idea of wot I mean.)
