a place with set speed limits would be the better option.

With Carlton, you have to remember that you're dealing with trams as well which can, for some people, increase the difficulty.

With Burwood, I was told that you have to watch out for the school zones.

If you book it in the middle of the day..school zones won't be a problem i think (but of course you still have to stick under 40 its just that you dont autofail, you get like 2 seconds to slow back down)

I sat my test at burwood and I had friends who were saying i made a mistake because burwood has a 50% pass rate supposedly. I passed btw :P

Are you asking so you can book at the easier one? (If you are) Of course thats entirely your choice but I reckon if you think you're ready to take the test then any venue should be fine.

Nah, it's a permanent 40 zone around one of the schools (if not more).  So watch out for that.

Just for reference, I'm pretty sure the school I'm talking about is on Hawthorn Road.  It's a primary school.

Also, hyperblade, with your test route, did you go on Highbury Road?

If you want an easy route, go for a 90 minute drive down to Warrigal. Getting a license in the country is like, amazingly easy, everyone's so laid back.

That's what I heard as well.  I've known some people going to Ballarat just to get the P's just for the easy way out.

Do you know about bicycles?  Are we allowed or supposed to do lane changes there?

Not so much 'easy way out', the waiting list is usually much shorter too. I had the choice of waiting 3 months for Dandenong, 2 months for Pakenham and 2 weeks for Warrigal. :)

As for bicycles, yes, you are meant to change lanes to overtake if it is safe to do so, otherwise just slow down behind them. If you are going to swerve around them, make sure you indicate, and do NOT cross any solid lines.

Agreed and don't forget that a bicycle lane IS a lane which means you have to headcheck. I crossed like 5-6 times and I was lucky for one of em lol. My instructor and the assessor had already turned their heads - if they hadnt done so I would forgotten and critial error right there

I take it Gloamglozer you also need to sit your P's? :p
