I prefer reading passages and making deductions, than problem solving.  You just try to use the text to prove or disprove alternatives. It's not always that clear though.

Not really a fan of questions with big data tables and big numbers which you then have to use in calculations.  Too time consuming, especially with all the scrolling between the table and the alternatives on MedEntry.

Wow i wouldn't have picked that up. How sneaky...

EDIT: For the question before it, those truthful and not truthful statements- I truly truly hate them! If I come across something like that in the UMAT, I'm not wasting my time on them :P

for the 2nd one it says "It's funny!" said the girl with the roses and Lily replies after, meaning Lily can not have bought the roses therefore B :P and hence A is wrong

As for the 1st one think about it, write out both possible choices for each of the 5 statements and it will make sense (one must be the truth and one must be a lie)

thanks.  omg sneaky 'with the roses' haha, my bad.

for the truth and lies one i am confused.  could you please do statement II and i'll do the others.  i just don't get these questions.  how do you know one must be the truth and the other must be a lie...

100% agree with akira, these questions blow!

You must consider both options so for statement II it can be:
OPTION 1:
1. Statement 1 is a lie (if this is the truth then statement 1 is lying so that's impossible)
2. Statement 2 is the truth (therefore this is a lie and hence statement 2 is lying and so it is actually telling a lie)
You can't have 2 lies so it's impossible

OPTION 2:
1. Statement 1 is a lie (if this is a lie then statement 1 is telling the truth)
2. Statement 2 is the truth (therefore this has to be the truth and hence statement 2 is telling the truth)
Again you can't have 2 truths so it's also impossible

I kind of explained it badly but since it's not even an option in the answer I wouldnt worry much about it (SO AMBIGUOUS!)

sheeeiiittt. UMAT not far off now...

I've improved markedly at section 3, although pick the middle i still struggle on. Section 1 is alright, im never too pressured for time as i just go through and do all the reading/data analaysis ones first. then come back and do the problem solving ones. seems to work for me..

But section 2 is really hit or miss i find. maybe it depends on my mood or something because ive done drills where i get pretty much all right, or some other days i might get like 3 or 4 right out of 15 or something lol

I've gotta start doing the exams, ive only done 2 so far and i did them ages ago....

All but section 1. Well I guess it's because I hate section one and I always get up and do something else while I'm meant to be doing the drill... LOL

Ok guys heres one from S2 exam 7

The answer..apparently is c) worried.

but i argue this, although believing she will have an early pregnancy she just got off the phone with the doctor which would have reassured her ect ect and it says she hung up in time to bite her lip as she felt the beginning of another contraction, so obviously shes trying to distract her self from the contractions by applying pain in another area, she may be worried but in this exact instance i cant see it, exactly before she felt contractions coming up.

any wayyy any insight is good
