use factorials to solve it.

as marks position is fixed in the centre of the bottom row, there are 5 positions available.  5!=120
so there are 120 combinations.

now try each solution:

A) to be next to arron, she has to be in the second row.  she can either be next to him on the left or right.
So there are only 3 peoples positions left who can change. So 3! = 6  This then doubles, as remember she can be either on the left or right of arron, so 12 in total.

Remeber she can't be next to arron, so these 12 positions no longer exist.

120-12 = 108

So A is correct.  You can try the rest of the options, and none of them give 108 positions.

omg thanks sooo much, did you get this correct in ur first attempt?

Do you think that option B has 24 combo's? The answer say it has 96 combo's. Either I mixed it up or they have.

Hey guys, check out this question, I said C because the mention of phytoplankton in areas of light b/c photosynthesis and zooplankton feeding on them. So if the Zooplanktons hide from sun were phytoplanktons are then they might not have access to a regular food source and so might die out faster.  But apparently the answer is A....predators, its close I guess and ambiguous b/c says food is abundant and were told that they feed on phytoplanks thats why its mentioned so, C.. hmm

anyway any insight is good

i just did this exam mikee65.  it owned me. lol.

whilst your answer may be correct, i think it is pretty safe to say that the BEST and most logical explanation for this phenomenon is indeed alternative C.

?

That one is definitely A.  The article criticises the govt, for underestimating the cost of home carers for the elderly.  Without doubt, the greatest claim that backs this up is that under this scheme, 90% of the costs for home elderly care would be spent on these home carers.  Really, it would cost a fortune.

Option D, to me anyway, is largely unrelated to the passage and irrelevant.

Stonecold I still don't understand A.

The criticism is that the savings are made because the workers are underpaid.
How does 90% of the funds allocated to healthcare for elderly given to home attendents strengthen the criticism?

Please explain further, I feel so dumb x(
