yeah but imdb has thousands of scores out of 10... which average out to what i find to be what i described above... thats not to say that every single movie that has an 8 is very good... but generally most are

those ads are annoying on rottentomatoes and they only have around 200 ppl voting and i like the design of imdb better

I don't like how in Rottentomatoes, reviewers can only give "Fresh" or "Rotten", and the number of "Fresh" and "Rotten" reviews gets tallied up to give a percentage. I don't know why they don't just tally up the actual scores out of 10. You could have a mediocre movie only barely getting "Fresh"s from the critics, and ending up with an awesome score by chance.
