Politicians shouldn't have the right to do that. It is a pretty showy and egotistical move to say that what we know now must be correct and we will not allow a differing opinion in the future.


Interestingly, the poll shows that
71.07% of Australians are in favour of the death penalty
28.93% of Australians are not in favour of the death penalty

Not 71% of Australians... 71% of people surveyed.

I think that distinction is important.

The herald sun is also one of the more conservative news papers we have.
