UMAT 2010 onwards....

Okay, before this years exam - there used to be:

Section 1: 44 Questions in 65 minutes
Section 2: 36 Questions in 45 minutes
Section 3: 30 Questions in 50 minutes

Now it is:

Section 1: Exactly the same as before
Section 2: 40 Questions in 50 minutes
Section 3: 38 Questions in 50 minutes

So if you do the math, for Section two and three, they still provide ~ the same amount of time per question
if you go by that. My Question is then, what is the point of extending the two sections, further?

Is their aim to be able to add tougher questions in there or allow a better chance to get a better score?

A test's accuracy can often increase with an increasing number of questions. For example, ideally VCE exams should have a question on every dot point in the syllabus so people aren't disadvantaged by what's been tested and what hasn't. Although this probably doesn't apply as well to the UMAT, I think it still holds to a degree.

wasn't it 30 questions in 40 mins for section 3 last year?  or am I just going mad?
