@Ninwa, why the 3 hours of transport?  Not sure how much it would help, but perhaps having six extra hours a week not dedicated to getting yourself to places could be better spent on other things (assuming that it's possible for you to work elsewhere D:).

I work in the city and I live in the sticks and because Metro are useless at everything it usually takes about 1.5 hours each way there and back. I guess I could do work on the train (though all I wanna do in the morning is sleep zzz)

I don't know, maybe I should just give up the job, though it's really good experience since it's a legal industry job and those are hard to come by... arghhhhhhhhh I don't know.

Depends on how useful the job will be versus how useful your studies will be.  If you fail your degree (and that probs won't happen) because of work, then it'd ultimately be pointless, right? D:

If it pays well enough, you could think of moving closer to your job? Or if not, asking people who live nearby if you can stay at their houses or something

First of all, No doing 3 subjects does not make you a slacker, it makes you smart for realising that it's your best option.

I really think this might not be the best idea. I'm currently working in "my field" of study and the experience will be a huuge benefit when looking for grad programs.

If you stay on getting "real world" experience where you're at, you'll have higher chances when you apply for vacation work/clerkship (is that what it's called? :P) with a wider range of firms.

Personally if I was in your position (and I probably will be soon) and I felt my grades/health were sufferring because I was doing too much, I'd cut down another subject.

On the other hand I'm not too clued in about the law industry - I know that grades are valued really highly. Can you cut down your hours at work during the semester and then work fulltime during breaks?

I'm doing three subjects at the moment too, which is like, 8 contact hours a week for me. I could handle 4, but I figured that I've worked hard in summer semesters and in high school to get 'ahead' in my degree, so it doesn't feel like slacking. This is also my first semester where I haven't totally freaked out. I've started to realise that there are things as important as uni work to put on my to do list, and the way I've prioritised my life may well be the recommended way to do things, but it's pretty unfullfilling.

My job is all over the place in terms of hours, but it's been 10 hours a week on average recently. I like work, it pays really well and it makes me feel as though I'm doing something that not just anybody could do, and it's not completely mind-numbing like retail was.

My social life is really nice too, I'm living in a share-flat with friends, and we go out actually quite often. I've been drinking much much less so far this year though. More going out for dinner or coffee or whatever.

I really vaslue my new found flexibility, I study as much as I need to and I can fit in anything, really. I hope you find the balance too...

Work's offering more days. It's a stupid idea to work 3 days a week, isn't it...

Not if you're working 15 hours in total over the 3 days.  :)  I love part-time.
