I have spent over 5 years pondering over why people decide to buy Apple products when it is quite obvious that other mp3 players/phones provide more features for about 1/3 of the price.

I guess it makes you look cool.

I agree that Apple do make great product, but their relatively-high quality does not justify the ridiculous price, and the Apple fanboy-ism is rather stupid. With the Android OS now, all major companies (other than Nokia) are releasing awesome phones. Take the HTC Desire, or the Samsung Galaxy S. Both are better than the iPhone 4 in terms of hardware and software, especially the Galaxy S (which has a better screen than the iPhone 4, and the best processor around), and both are cheaper than the iPhone 4, with equal, if not better, build quality.

But then of course, people who don't really understand the difference will say 'But it's an iPhone!', in this case, refer to that video.

honest truth
who ever says " there are better/cheaper phones/mps3 players out there" .. you are actually all ... blind
i understand , yes the iphone does seem like a rip off
if you can find one new phone that has the amount of pixels on the screen that the iphone does ... then ... u win 1010010101001010 dolllers lol
i have a htc evo ( the apparent best phone on the market) .. and after using my dads i4 ... its honestly got nothing on it
the iphone 4's internet is incredibly fast ( yes i am on the same carrier for both phones)

and ontop of all of that
ihpone is incredibly easy to use .... also ... the apps .... apples applications are amzing ... there is an app for everything
currently my dads i4 .. can .. turn lights on .. open/close electric doors ... turn the oven on ..
we tried hooking up my htc to do this
and guess what
it cannot ...........

open your eyes a little .. dont be so closed minded
if u have the cash ... iphone 4 is the way to go hands down.

I am so glad I shopped around before buying an iPod. (I've taken out everything that the 2 players have in common in that list)
Italics means useless feature that you won't use

Well, I can't judge as I'm stuck on my 4-year-old Sony Ericsson, but when it comes to phones, I want a phone that:
a) Calls people
b) Receives calls
c) Sends texts
d) Receives texts
e) Has a video camera to record mates doing somethign that they thought was a good idea.

add video camera to the features you won't use- the battery plays music for about 3 horus, it can probably record about 30 seconds before the battery dies

The Iphone is only good for its apps (heck there's a whole new degree for creating those things). For Its other things such as phone, internet etc. there are far better things (mainly HTC Desire =p)

what network are you running the evo on?

because i had a look at it a while ago for dad and it apparently can't connect to any of the networks in Australia because they run at different frequencies. might be worth taking another look now i guess :)

That's the reason why it is unavailable in Australia.

If by bad reception, you mean no reception, yeah. You would only have had GSM. Simply because we don't even have a CDMA network. No internets to you sir.
