wat about the afternoon sesh?!?
we got an extra 10 mins for section 2
Holy crap i didnt notice?
i was 1:30 session level one - mezzanine
and it was least required trait for mccurries im sure of it
also ticked give them something to believe in
still, the umat is a rediculous test, and the entire admission system is rediculous too.
wayy too subjective, and ends up taking in 170 or so of the exact same people..
No idea what you mean by 170 of the exact same people, but how is the UMAT way too subjective?
the umat + th einterview + vce ends up allowing the same type of people into med school... a bunch of people hoo may be able to tell a joke and make others alugh but hoo may not necessairly beocme leaders in their respective fields or excel in the scinetific part of medicine..
if im in hospital, i want a docotr... not a comedian..
This is one of the main reasons they brought in the umat...because getting 99.95 and ultra high scores didnt necessarily mean you'd make a good doctor who could deal with patients. Not everyone can be a leader in their field. I really disagree with that
so u want ur dreams to be decided by 'luck of the draw'?
It's not just "your dreams" at stake, sounds kind of selfish. Remember you're being a doctor for te community and all people, if you cant help them in a proper way or communicate people shouldnt get in just for the sake of your dreams and be poor doctors
Oh, and does anyone know the Monash requirements for the UMAT for the past few years?
The UMAT selects people who suceed in medicine. If it leaves out others who also would have been sucessful, that's just because it's not possible for everyone capable to be educated.
I agree with that, if not for the simple fact you can't really flood the market full of like 2000 doctors a year comming from monash instead of 300 they just wouldnt have jobs.
And yeah the VCE system is broken in some places but its far from being the worst it could be but it does have its problems.
