Hmm... this is interesting...

A guy in AFC1000 (1 of my units) got this email:

***********************************************************************
A message from Faculty of Business and Economics
***********************************************************************
Dear Student

Due to increased enrolment numbers, the faculty is unable to offer you
elective enrolment in any of the following units:

AFC1000
AFC1030
AFC2000
AFC2140
AFC2240
AFC3131
AFC3140
AFC3540

You will need to amend your enrolment via WES and add an alternate
elective(s).

The faculty apologises for any inconvenience.

Professor Owen Hughes
Deputy Dean Education
Faculty of Business and Economics
Monash University

Also, I got this email on Friday from the Jap1 coordinator:

Dear Japanese 1 student,

I am looking forward to meeting you in your Japanese 1 lecture on Monday. Tutorial and seminar classes also start in  week 1, so please make sure you attend.  In the last week or so we have had a sudden surge in enrolments, filling up all our scheduled class times, so there is a small number of students who have not been able to allocate to classes successfully using Allocate+.  We will schedule new groups if necessary when numbers settle down next week, but in the meantime, if you are unable to allocate to any group, you should attend the class of your choice.  However, please be aware that you may not be able to attend at that time permanently.  If you are already allocated to a time, you must attend at that time.

Robyn Spence-Brown, Japanese 1 coordinator

I'm fine - It was AFC1000 that gave me hell, my Jap classes r all good.

I was wondering tho... has any1 else come across this problem?
It's interesting 2 c how the Arts faculty is attempting to accommodate the extra students, but how the BusEco faculty is turning them away.

is AFC1000 similar to AFF1000, principles of accounting and finance?

Do you use the same books as us? (we use a custom publication). Just wondering if theres a difference.

Umm... AFC1000 = Principles of Accounting and Finance.

Carey, P. (2009). Principles of accounting and finance, John Wiley, Brisbane, Australia.

It's not custom, but it's new this year.
V. ugly I must say - a horrid combination of shades of blue and green that jst shouldn't b mixed.

I believe those sorts of units, the 3rd letter denotes the campus. While the unit title may differ slightly, they're meant to be fairly similar.

Actually not quite, champorado (but you're nearly right)

C = Clayton
F = Caulfield
W = World (Berwick, Peninsula, South Africa, Malaysia, Gippsland)
X = Same unit throughout all campuses.
