My area is a very safe labor seat. I know that the state and federal MPs are both Labor and have been re-elected at least 3 times. Though this thing doesn't really help me decide on who to vote for. So far none of the parties seem deserving of my vote

its not really a protest vote... its more like a vote for labor

I know it does eventually end up with labor but the results will show how many votes the greens also got before they got preferenced off and it will dilute the % labor and liberal have in tables containing other parties. It's more a protest vote in that sense really.

All preferences end up with liberal or labour anyway ( i think..)

We need a none of the above option in Australia i reckon.

My area is also a major labor stronghold (working class area in the west...) theres only been liberal rule here for like 7 years out of 100.... rest has been labor... so im tempted to vote liberal to make it more marginal
