That's correct. It's 6 free sessions with the Psychologist if you go to the GP first and you should anyway. It's useful to have a checkup to see if there are any physical problems that may be giving rise to these problems.

That said, everyone uses the DSM (at least in Australia) - it's the general reference to all the mental health disorders that we know about, at least in the Western sphere of things.

Okay, I just realised I only went one weekend without drinking, but I've fathomed that since I was never drinking to combat anxiety, it probably won't help too much. Thanks for the general advice, I really don't want to see a doctor but I might have to do that :(

I know it's hard, but you do have to keep talking until someone listens to you or else you'll continue being miserable.
