Oh yes sorry
ok well i found it the most intense thing i have ever done.
the stages were very similar except the stressful one was more about 'conscientiousness' and focusses on situations in which you have failed and how you overcame this
your stage 1 and 2 were combined into one stage
there was also a stage about communication in which they asked questions about your communication skills and when you hav had to communicate a complex idea...
stage 5 was not really giving a scenario but instead they asked about our problem solving skills and examples etcetc
that is all i can remember at the moment but i will post more when i remember more.. i wrote down a few of the questions but i cant find that piece of paper so if i find it again i will post those as well

hey guys im planing on doing physiotherapy at latrobe at either bendigo or shepparton. my enter is 91.20m, and i was wondering whether that would get me through the the course or not. i havent been able to find out what the cost for the course is either each year or in total (CSP position), and also finishing the course with a masters in 4 years, is that really classifies as a masters degree..? your answers to these questions would be highly appreciated thanks

Hey mate, good to hear you want to study physiotherapy. Also, congratulations on your ENTER, job well done. I'm not sure what your question is regarding your ENTER and getting through the course. Do you mean, will it get me in? Or do you mean, will I be able to survive? I think ill just answer both questions

1) Obviously nobody knows for sure what the ENTER for Bendigo Physio is going to be. Last year it was mid-92s for first round, but remember, that was with Uni Melb Physio program in the mix. As you would know, Uni Melb took ~ 95 year 12 students, and all those applicants had a minimum ENTER of 96 (excluding seas applicants etc). So you have to think, where are those applicants going to go? Yep, La Trobe Bundoora (and to a lesser extent, Monash in Mornington). Now, understand this: La Trobes first round cut-off last year was 97.00. That means that they took ~70 students with an ENTER above 97. And given that Uni Melb took ~ 95 students with an ENTER above 96, the competition for Bundoora spots is going to increase dramtically. So the cut-off for Bundoora physio will lie ~ 98.5 or around there. (ok, all that information wasn't irrelevent, im slowly getting to me point :P). Now, you have to think, if the cut-off for bundoora is ~ 98.5, where are the people who got 97,96,95 (who would otherwise be at bundoora) go; and thats my point- they're going to go, most likely, to Bendigo physio. So the ENTER for bendigo, I assume, is also going to rise to ~ 94-95.

I'm not trying to dampen your spirits, but it's important that you understand it so you have a realistic view on things. That's not to say you wont get bendigo, but looking at some figures here and there, I doubt you'll get it (unless you have seas or the like). In saying that, I have no doubt that you'll get Shep physio.

2) If you were wondering if you will survive the course. Uh, depends on how much youre willing to put in. Its not something where you'll pass by just attending lectures. You're going to have to study and apply yourself, but I'm sure youre a smart bloke and will survive it.

Ok, CSP spot is ~ 6-7k a year off memory.

The masters is completed in an intergrated 3rd and 4th year system, its not just the one year. The whole course is a little complex to understand, but I can tell you that you will graduate with a master of physiotherapy practice by the end of it. The course has already got primary accreditation, with final accrediation not coming till the first batch graduate. They know what theyre going, they've got a massive reputation to uphold, just trust them on that.

Hope that answers all your questions. Let me know if you need anything else.

Just wanted to put in my prediction that latrobe bundoora physio will have a cut-off of 98.5 before we find out tommrow. The admin office thinks it will be 99.0, but i think thats quite ambitious. So yes, here is my formal prediction of 98.5. Last year it was 97.0. If anyone else wants to have a digg at guessing the score, go for it.

doboman, the site doesn't mention GAMSAT is required for Unimelb's DPT. I wonder why.......

Thanks for the update Edmund. Seems to me that Melb Uni changed their mind. If you refer here, they clearly mentioned they will use an aptitude test  (The name GAMSAT was also thrown around at last year's open day) as an assessment criteria.

But looking at the new hope page, it is clear that you are right. They have withdrawn that part of the criteria. Wonder why?

That link was last updated on 05 September 2008 :P

But no GAMSAT seems too good to be true.

Well we can confirm that there is no GAMSAT considering Key Dates for Doctor of Physiotherapy does not mention to sit, nor apply through ACER (GAMSAT).

I agree, it seems quite odd. The only thing I can think of would be the fact that Melb Uni wants to process all applications through the University and doesn't want ACER to be incharge of admissions for the program. Either that, or ACER didn't want to have to supply the mechanisms and resources to deal with selection and admission of the course. Other than that, I'm not quite sure. I'm pretty stumped by them taking out the GAMSAT too.

Just wondering, If I didn't make the 96.75 ENTER for Physio at La Trobe in Bundoora, what would be my best alternative pathway of getting in? (start a course for one year and then transfer across). I was thinking Health Sciences at La Trobe, since the first year is the same for both courses. But the ENTER/ATAR differences are a lot, so I'm not sure whether they may accept the transfer (Health Sciences = 60.00, whilst Health Sciences/Master of Physiotherapy = 96.75)
