VCE and Your Health

Hey all, dis is my first official post. LOL

ANyway, i have a question to ask..

As you all know, yr 12 is full of homework. now. Thing is, my teachers dont care if i dont do my homework, they wont cheak it, however, its in everyones best interest to do it coz it really does help later on.

I do my homwork every night coz im going to be a nerd dis year, haha, but im having abit of trouble..

Im a health freak. I like to go to the gym as often as i can, however this year im finding it difficult to go to the gym because of the amount of homework i have..

I know i must prioritise, its just i start gym at 6.30 and by the time i come home its 8, eat dinner, have a shower dis dat, its goes to 9.30 - 10 and thats when i start hw coz im relaxed and i have a clear head.

Me doing this is really effecting my sleep and if i continue doing this i know im going to burn out eventually and wont even make it to mid year exams hahaha..

Does anyone have any tips on how i dont have to sacrifice my health and be on top of homework?
Doing homework straight after school is out of the question. fuck that

Mind u, tonight ive missed out on my gym session and feel like an obese fat fuck. :(

thanks guys :)

Have you tried reading your notes into a voice recorder and playing them back to yourself on an mp3 player while exercising? That way you can exercise and study at the same time. Sort of. If you're that type of person (I can't learn if I'm getting talked at, even by myself, but let's hope you're different)

You should just go to the gym earlier, like before 6.30. If you went straight after school then you'd be able to do homework before dinner and then again after dinner if ya had to.

Or just don't do the homework lol. I reckon you're better off studying rather than doin homework, that's the way I do it lol. For me homework just doesn't help at all. Might just be me lol.

vcehelp.com.au has some "health and the VCE resources" here:

http://www.vcehelp.com.au/foods-to-improve-memory-85/
http://www.vcehelp.com.au/exercising-your-right-for-peak-performance-84/

Dunno how good they are but they have a lot more advice to give you on your question than I do! :P

Makes no sense really...you can build core strength whilst lifting weights...

If you mean build up a good base of core strength before proceeding to other areas of your body then fair enough...

I skipped whole days of school (9am-3.30pm) to play sport in year 12- soccer, cricket, badminton, athletics, softball, volleyball to list a few. Missed out on a lot of work but turned out fine

Taking 1 hour of your day to exercise wouldn't hinder or stall any of your homeworking, really. But 6.30-8 seems like a bad time to do gym work...?

- What time do you get home from school?
- Perhaps you can fit some homework in here
- Maybe you can work out at home instead or limit going to the gym to a 2-3 days per week?

This may sound crazy but i train before school, that way i have the entire evening to do hw and study (if i dont have coaching or something in the evening)
Although going to a gym in the morning would be hard, is there a gym at your school? maybe you could use your lunch-times to get your exercise done.

Let me rephrase, by pumping "iron" doing biceps, triceps and bench pressing (etc), stereotypical gym work, you're not working on core strength, which is arguably a lot more important.

Thanks guys for all the replies.
Much appreciated.

Yeah, im think im gonna have to start doing some hw straight after school so im not stressed out when i come home and theres a shit load of work to do.

I used to wake up at 5.30 every morning and go for an hour run. Ahh - those days were good LOL.
Cosidering my sleep patterns atm, should i take that up again, id get fuck all sleep LOL

Actually, just this week i started working out at the school gym. I just dont think im gonna continue it as it interfers with having my cigarettes at lunch LOL - how ironic and hypocritical am i. Health freak who fucking smokes. LMAO.

Oh, and core strength is basically critical to have. Our core is involved in so many things that we dont even notice. Just try and get off your chair and realise how your core muscle's tense for you just do so..
Strengthening your core thru weights/resistance or just general exericse is a benefit overall.
