I've heard done it and passed without looking like a moron is fine, but the lower the ATAR you get, the higher the UMAT the more chance you have. So I guess if you have a 90th percentile UMAT but with a 95 ATAR , you can get in just like a person with a 80th percentile UMAT but a 97 ATAR. I think.

I think 97 max? I know someone who got into 94 but I thought it was usually ~95

I hope you mean ENTER scores there. I assume darkphoenix was referring to UMAT, in which case, I'm not too sure what it is anymore given that I know the ENTER required has rocketed ever since the Melbourne Model was put in.

did they have pharmacy at Melbourne before :O?

Nope, they didn't, but those who would've gone into other health sciences at UoM (optom, physio etc.) and were deterred by the new model overflowed into Pharmacy I'm guessing. Might be other factors in play here too, I'm not too sure.

Yea, the MM really screwed things over, at the medicine entrance lecture at Monash Open Day, the guy said:

"Why is entry so competitive?"

Reason no. 1 : Introduction of the Melbourne Model.

Yeah i was referring to UMAT, was asking around and no one is really seems to know.
I talked to a lady at a Pharmacy seminar held a few months back and she said that the minimum UMAT score they will consider is 160/300. Not sure how it is derived, and she didn't know either. So vague.
Grr why can't the courses I want to do have a specific ATAR score to get into so I have something to aim for :(

A score out of 300 would be the percentiles of all three sections added together. 160 would mean a overall score of 53. Not sure what percentile that equates to, cbf checking the graph.

Does anybody know the actual date?

From what I've gathered it will be between the 20th of September to the 30th at the latest..

And do we get an email telling us that they're released? Thanks.

No, we don't get an email. We just get our results randomly on the day, they send them out throughout a certain day, so someone you know may get an email while you have to wait another few hours.
It will more than likely be out in the next few days, and at the end of the week (friday) by the latest, unless the past few years is no trend to follow... but i'm sure it will be the same.
