ok so pretty much
if i dont get an inverview . or an offer
i cannot randomly call and ask for a place? obviously right?
or should i try anyway

Doesn't hurt trying I guess.

Your success that's actually amazing.
So basically, you didn't get an offer for first round after you had an interview, and then how long after you found this out did you call up? What did you say to them? How many times did you calll?
I cannot believe that happened! That's absolutely insane!
If i get accepted for an equity scholarship, and get an interview and don't get accepted, i will try this but i feel they will just shut me down and be like "it doesnt work that way kiddo, now go study"
haha.

I'm going to cairns next week. I've decided to drive the 349km each way to townsville to pop my little head up at JCU and let them know I exist.

wow, you go girl..or guy

lol what do u actually plan on doing there?

Streak or something, get their attention.

But seriously, visit a family member who's studying medicine their and absorb some of his vast wisdom. I'm also trying to get a look at the university, hopefully someone can show me around.

...I also want to visit said family member because he is part of my family. I like my family.

So Shinny, what you're saying is:
 1) U got an interview
2) You didn't get into med with an immediate 1st round offer, but you got some other monash course
3) THEN you rang up and called etc etc
:)?

Well, all this talk about postgrad...

the thing is

Yep, got an interview but didn't get in so I got all mopey as you'd expect (actually, I just went apathetic and grinded away at WoW for a few weeks but that's another story). But then my friend told me that he was going to try to apply for an irregular offer and I was sceptical. Next day he tells me he got in. I went wtf and tried to do the same. Called up admissions right away and they said that they didn't currently have any spots, but to call back in 3 days and see if any spots free up. Well I wasn't going to take the chance and actually call up in 3 days in case my spot got ninja'd so I pretty much called up every day for a few days and eventually a spot did free up and she gave it to me.

That's actually incredible, I'm shocked. So you called up mid febuary i'm assuming?
When you called up admissions for the first time what did you say??

What is an equity scholarship vexx may I ask?
It's a rather new scholarship, that if you qualify for certain groups such as financial issues, medical disability, and so on, and you get 95+ after being accepted on results day, you may be able to get a late round interview in january if your umat was 50/50/50 and you got above 50+ overall, i think this is correct. There is not much info. about it, but it exists :p

They do have HECS/CSP places, it might only be like 50% of the total places in the course though(or less), so it *is* harder to get a CSP place but there are still CSP places...

I thought that after 7 years of tertiary studies, the policy becomes: now you need to pay for your own shit, plus interest.
