Theres this question, simplify
And for the written out asnwers to this question, it has the method for simplifying it as

Why would you multiply by sin and cos, should you only multiply it by sin, isnt that like multiplied by 3 is which is ?

If you look at the graph, for , you will get a negative value for y.

Therefore, the value can take must be somewhere between , which is the fourth quadrant.

Hence, since the angle, is in the fourth quadrant, must be negative.
