as much as i know johnson needs to go, i feel like without him we are worse. No offence harris/bollinger/siddle/watson/doherty just doesnt sound like an attack to take wickets. hopefully il be proven wrong but without JOHNSON i feel the attack lacks that fear factor.

I think your underrating Harris and Bollinger. They're very attacking bowlers as both can swing the ball.

I hope Johnson goes. Hes been far too inconsistent and bowls a good ball once evry 30 deliveries.

fair point. but i was more thinking on an internation stage, harris and bollinger dont have the same reputation as johnson has, so the pyschological/mental affect may be lost with him in the line up.
im sure either bowler will bowl better then him, just something without him in the line up, no real spearhead i feel?

Johnson has not been consistent enough over the last few months to be considered the spearhead. Compared to someone like Brett Lee who charged in from the outset, Johnson bowls first change. Besides, no one is afraid of a 150km deliver if it is bowled 1m down the legside.

Aussie squad: 1 Simon Katich, 2 Shane Watson, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Clarke, 5 Michael Hussey, 6 Marcus North, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Xavier Doherty, 9 Peter Siddle, 10 Ben Hilfenhaus, 11 Doug Bollinger.

Johnson was axed, but North remains  :idiot2:

Cheers! I would have kept Hilfenhaus though, he was a bit unlucky not to get a few more wickets

I feel sorry for Katich though... He doesn't have the arrogance of Ponting
