This is turning out to be one of the closest World Cups in recent times. Going to get real interesting in a couple of weeks.

+1 Once all the minos are out. I'd lol though if WI get in instead of England, its probably the most interesting thing left until the finals.

Ponting cracked it again...  :idiot2:  (some pics of it in case you missed it)

I think, seeing as though he took the catch, he should have just laughed it off instead of his outburst (but then again, when on the field, its harder to think with a clear mind).

What do you guys think? If someone 'notorious' like Harbhajan Singh did the same thing, so you think the Aussie media would have reported on it so lightly?

ANYWAY, it will be interesting if Australia can prevail in their first 'real' match against Pakistan.

NZ was a real match.
And it was targeted at a teammate not the other team or an umpire so there's not much "serious" to report on.

But Harbhajan's 'friendly' slap on teammate Sreesanth was reported pretty seriously here (not that I support his stupid actions). I think its just the wrong message a captain of the defending champions should be giving.

That's because it's H Singh and he deserves everything he gets though.

Haha fair enough! He is cocky enough to drive a Hummer around...

I think it is good in a way that Ponting is showing emotion and that he still wants to do well but it probably isn't the best thing for the media to see since the way they have been writing about him for a while tonight.

Tonights match will be interesting to see how we go against a team that can play unbeatable cricket on their good days.

Should be great! And it doesn't start late, which is even more awesome!

I think if Afridi doesn't fire, then Australia should dominate.

Likely that India will be the next opponent. Hopefully the batting will be much improved from the loss against Pakistan, otherwise I can't see them competing at all on Indian soil.

It appears that way with India on top of their group.
Will be an interesting match along with the crowd that will be very pumped to see them do well.
It seems that the team will stay the same since they can't drop White after he got run out rather than getting out on his own accord.

Predictions Australia vs India?

I think that for Australia to win, they need the following to happen:
- Get Sehwag and Tendulkar out as early as possible
- Tait needs to bowl less wides (ie needs to stay fast and focused)
- At least two Aussie batmen need centuries/big-50s

Its going to be difficult though, a good match!

btw, locked the poll: Australia - 5 followed by India - 3. Interesting...

On paper India but the Aussies get out of tight situations with annoying regularity

Good game, especially from Punter!!

I'd have actually liked it better if he had failed (given that it already was a loss). At least then there could be a decent restructure of the team, I just think Ponting is really wasting his spot in the side (especially at number 3).

Pakistan vs India will be a BLOCKBUSTER! So much between the teams, going to be the best match of the tournament
