Hussey is my favourite Aussie batsman I've seen in my lifetime. Really disappointing to see him go.

Also, Sangakkara is probably my favourite non-Aussie batsman and I would have preferred that he didn't get injured...feel sorry for Sri Lanka with all the injuries they sustained. I wonder if effigies of Mitchell Johnson are being lit in the streets of Colombo...

Hope Lanka puts up a better show next game, they were dreadful (and hilarious).

:D

I doubt it. With Sangakkara, P Jayawardene injured, I'd be surprised if we can survive two days in the Sydney test.

D Karunarathne - fairly solid, inexperienced though, needs to learn how to locate his off stump in these kind of wickets
T Dilshan - a flop, swings at everything, I swear he doesn't even give a shit if lanka lose or win
K Sangakkara - the only batsman who can bat outside subcontinent
M Jayawardene - a flop outside the subcontinent, can't bat for shit in Australia, plus has to bear the brunt of the fucking politics as Lankan captain
T Samaraweera - so out of character these days, I swear he's become disillusioned with cricket. Who wouldn't, with the politics going on?
A Mathews - decent bat, needs to learn how to not throw his wicket away
P Jayawardene - decent bat, but injured (he got some good nuts)
D Prasad - a decent bowler
R Herath - only reason why Lanka didn't lose by an innings and 600 runs
S Eranga - shit, can't bowl
C Welegedara - no loss to our team, not threatening @ all

Replacements -

L Thirimanne - seems ok, inexperienced though
S Lakmal - not very threatening
D Chandimal - seems solid, see how he plays in tests

I get the feeling that the Sri Lankan cricket team just don't really give a shit anymore. Like, they don't care anymore. They havent been paid for a long time, Jayawardene has to constantly face the corruption of the cricket board that is infested with politics (watch Sangakkara's Cowdrey lecture and you'll see why he was so eager to relinquish the captaincy and refused to take it up again when Dilshan flopped).

Plus, I doubt that this is the best side Lanka can produce. Seriously. These players (with the exception of Sangakkara) are all from the elite Colombo schools, of which there are not many. Lankan Cricket Board refuse to look into the rural and regional areas and develop cricket there, refuse to look to the north where I bet there would be many budding cricketers with talent (Sanga and Murali were both from Kandy).

"Sri Lanka Cricket is not going the way, the direction it is supposed to be going, especially with a set of muppets headed by a joker" - Marvan Atapattu. That's right, Sri Lanka Cricket is going to the dogs. And yes, our politicians are fucking dogs.

And meanwhile, more and more of our diehard Lankan cricket fans are moving away from cricket. We are so disillusioned with the fact that politics has infested even cricket.

Hell, politics has infested our unis (in Sri Lanka) - which is why when you finish your A-levels at 18-19, you start first year uni at like 22 because it takes so long for the process of admission - it takes a year to mark A-level papers due to corruption and strikes and the like, the unis are often closed because of strikes and JVP shit, the students at uni are used by the JVP (a communist party) to march for their cause.

I should refine my statement. Sri Lanka is going to the dogs.

India match was hilarious. Before we went to the nets, we were like 4/50 or something, with Dhoni in, 30 off like 70 balls.

We came home and they ended up in low 200's haha. Dhoni made like 113 off 126!!! He seriously is a freak sometimes.

Valiant effort from Mahendra Singh, although they still lost...

Yeah it was. Although I'd imagine that the latter part of Dhoni's inning would have been epic to watch. He got a standing ovation apparently!!
