I've read A Man For All Seasons twice.

The second reading is essential!!!
The first time it was confusing in parts but now I've picked out like 1000 things I didnt notice in the first reading.

I'll read it again during the year.

I dread the fact that I'm going to have to read 1984 again. Kite Runner I won't mind because it's on my level

The tally will be updated as soon as I get back from holidays, which is tomorrow. I have been accessing the forum via my mobile phone and therefore I have not been able to update due the limited settings on mobile internet. That is, I cannot edit existing posts. It will be done tomorrow.

No worries, if you could let me know that would be good. Just post the link here and I'll add it to the tally if it hasn't already been included in the current tally.

Nick, will you be considering the popularity of texts in terms of what sort of text they are? (ie. novels, plays and films).
Like will you choose a certain amount from each or just the most popular texts in general?

I think to be fair I'll just choose the top 5, regardless of the type of text. If I selected the most popular based on type, it wouldn't correspond accurately enough with how the vote was distributed.

will we be looking at context studies?? this new element of study is quite.... *wierd eyes*

this way we can limit to two main text/film per person + a context in which the main principles are discussed...?
if that made sense...

e.g.
i'm doing encountering conflict and books my school chose for that is "secret river" and "the crucible", other people around may also be doing encountering conflict but have different books, but the main idea behind this context should be the same... right?

but still, THANKS for all the effort put in Nick ;D

I will be more than willing to address each of the contexts in a general sense as you've described, as it will be similar to analysing the broader implications of an issue in our lives (such as identity and belonging).

In addition to this, I'll be reading any context novels which end up in the top 5. This is because Area of Study Two of the new study design requires a written analysis of the context chosen by each school and in this piece of writing, direct reference to the context novel studied. I hope this makes sense.
