oh and i read this review of jindabyne and it said it was "disturbing". Is it really that bad? I don't want to be scarred lol.

i didnt find it scary, ive heard its a good film to study and has the same director as lantana which i thought was a really good film but i dont think were studying it like a normal film. its really hard to find anything on it because its new on the list.

The movie is fairly disturbing. This is not necessarily because of what you see or hear on screen, but it's sickening to think that a group of people could commit such a morally bankrupt action. If you want to self-study it as a back up you could, but it's probably not necessary due to the fact that it's part of the context area of study.

It is definitely NOT true. That would defeat the entire purpose of completing the context section of the English course.

The practice exam explicitly states,

"You must draw upon issues and ideas suggested by a text or texts from the list above"

I don't know who has been saying that you don't, but it is most certainly a myth.

Nick how do you study film texts properly? Do you have to go into film techniques etc?

I think that this is an awesome idea and that you will really help people like myself who aren't so great at analyzing texts.

My school has chosen;
A Man for all Seasons
Secret River
Witness (film)
and Catcher in the Rye.

I'm aiming to get a minimum study score of 35 but hopefully I can get into the 40s.
