Has anyone ever had "Security Tool" or any over rogue security software automatically installed on their computer? basically i was just surfing and suddenly the whole fucking browser freezes and this shit pops up and automatically installs some crap on my computer, worst of all it prevents you from doing shit like going to "add or remove programs" to remove it! it is so annoying, pops up all the time telling me every fucking program (even AVG antivirus!) is trying to steal my credit card details.  :tickedoff:

Oh shit, this is what caused me to reformat my comp a few weeks ago, lol, I had some program that kept poping up for every program I opened and every new internet tab I opened, I'm not sure, can your antivirus somehow get rid of this program? I'm pretty sure it's a virus. But reformat is the best option to get rid of it...

Backup your shit and reinstall. You'll love it later. (I reinstall every 3 or 4 months. Microsoft can only survive for so long before it becomes crap :P)

I will definitely do that if all my current sneaky attempts fail (I'm now using my guest account as it is not infected for some reason, and so I'm attacking it from there). It would be funny and sad if amongst the many symptoms of this fucker would be some kind of inability to backup :P

edit: well one way of stopping it is to quickly open task manager before it has the ability to prevent you from opening task manager, then close it once it is open (and it won't open itself up again, only at startup for some reason).

Yeah there are many different supposed solutions on the net, guess different things work for different cases and I did have to play around a bit with in my case. Antivirus software didn't work well, but what did work well was just simply using task manager to first close it, then locating the target from the shortcut in the start menu and deleting the mofo. Happy to be rid of it finally.

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

The AVG happened to me earlier this year, basically what I did was turn off my comp, restart (maybe even in safe mode), run the program called 'rhkill.com' (attached and should be on desktop when run as AVG might hi-jack explorer.exe) and then ran an anti-malware program (eg. Malwarebytes), and the thing should be gone. Freaked me out though.
