How many of you changed your pictures to cartoon characters and how exactly do you think it would help stop child abuse?

Hmm... I guess it shows moral support (if that even adds up to something).
So if it attracts enough attention - someone will do something about it?

It could possibly work, in theory, I guess.

But no... I didn't do it.

I didn't do it and I think it would aid child abuse prevention in the same way that wearing a pink ribbon aids breast cancer prevention

Yeah... but you BUY a pink ribbon (say $2) and you wear it to show you support to attract other people to BUY a ribbon. More money for the foundation.

What the hell does this Facebook trend do?

True that.. I guess it's just the awareness that counts.

My friends are doing it, but I haven't..
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

It kinda trivialises the issue doesn't it? Yeah, chuck a cartoon character on my dp, great, that's child abuse taken care of, now let's move on to the next fad.

I didn't understand why this girl wearing a dress I would kill for (but which is out of stock on Asos) in her profile picture last week now has one of Alice in Wonderland.

As much of a non-sequitur as boycotting hummus to solve the middle east problem:
