Mobile Phone Explodes in Man's Ear!!!

A man had his smart phone explode into his ear whilst making a phone call.

So is texting the safer option?

There have been numerous cases of phones 'exploding' and apperently it is a rare event...
Well you would just hope that it doesnt happen to yourself, and texting is probably safer.
Hopefully the mobile phone manufacturer can do something about this.

It most likely could have occured from overheating. The man may have left the phone in the car and then it being a smart phone and the fact that they use heaps of power since they're essentially a small computer overheating could easily cause it to explode.

It's pretty hard to explode without bad manufacturing or structural damage. More power doesn't mean explosion. It requires gas to be evolved inside the sealed enclosure, build up of pressure, then sudden burst. So if the wrong bits of metal comes in contact with the wrong bits of plastic with a bit too much usage, kaboom baby.

So what I'm saying is, don't drop your phone, it may cause explosions later.
