Wow you work hard:

I've been quite unproductive tbh...I've used up a lot of time on FB and MSN. I wouldn't call it 100% wasting, because I do help people a lot across FB and MSN, which does help me too.

This year I've pulled up about 1-3 hours a night - I get home from school at 5 pm at the earliest and about 7-8 pm at the latest
Weekends, I do about 0 to 5-6 hours a day, but on really productive days I can get up to 10-12.

You guys are all beating me. I have been doing an average of about 1-2 hours a night over the past year and do considerably less on weekends. I'm gonna push it up this year though.

i started around 5 and went to bed around 11.. but that doesnt mean i actually did 6 hours lol its because dinner and breaks and msn and fb took around 2 hoursish and i wanted to get about 4 hours of study. but yeah dont worry too much about the hours the amount of work you do counts not the hours you sit down to do your work. and weekends i just made up for the hours i procrastinated hehehe and that equals= being severely burnt out! i still havent done much work this december arghhhh !!!!

I think all 2011 year 12s need to keep in mind that the amount of study you need to do should be purely based on the individual. It is a mistake to compare the work you're doing to others on this forum, or in your cohort. If you can get the same amount of study done in two hours as another person who gets the same amount done in five hours, then don't think you have to match their study time. Time spent studying is irrelevant, it's the effectiveness of the study using a routine that suits you that really counts.

I'm finding it really helpful to handwrite ALL my work rather than type it; notes, english essays, etc.

This way you get more of the information and skills in your memory, thus when you end up doing the actual sac it's all relative.

And you improve your ability to write by hand for longer periods of time :)

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”
