If you buy an HP laptop (especially the DV range) absolutely make sure you trial it first. The keyboards have an idiotic design and the touchpads are the worst quality I've ever had to deal with.
True, but having tried out the new DV6's, the only real annoying thing is the trackpad, but seriously, in my opinion, it doesn't take long to adapt. In regards to portability, the dv6 is about .1kg heavier. So far though, I haven't seen a laptop beat the macbook range for Battery Life, but considering you save more than $700+ (comparing to Macbook Pros), I can get an extra battery, SSD, Microsoft Office, a netbook or even another desktop etc. In regards to the Graphics card, the HP's graphics card is from the same line as the MBP, but is faster. I just think it is more of a better deal than macbooks.
