The stations copping the most criticism included Balaclava, Footscray, Ringwood, Hoppers Crossing and Frankston.

I'm just glad stat my station is under some spot-light, it is truly in a bad shape.

Any got missed?

I rarely care about the actual shape of the station. I guess the issue moreso revolves around whether it is safe or not haha. I had the misfortune of having to catch a train from Ringwood East station at about 10 in the evening one night, there is ONE functioning light, and I'm not sure of this but I think there must be some rule there that you have to be consuming alcohol whilst on the platform otherwise you're not allowed on.

Pakenham line is definitely one of the worst, seeing that:
1) it passes by Dandenong
2) it passes by Narre warren
3) there's hardly ever any seats as people only get off at Springy
4) frequency is so bad, especially on a weekend (half an hour after school and > 1 hour on a weekday)
5) passengers never get the new train carriages because "it can't fit on the platform"

Plus the demographics itself is bad enough  >:(

(although of course, this is about the train line and not the train station itself)

metro is the bane of my existence, 'nuff said

If the number of functioning platforms is a concern, the number of platforms should aslo be.
Ashburton and Alamein have got only 1 platform, allowing a max of a train every 20 minutes :'(

How many people use those stations? (curiosity question) Bit odd for alamein, seeing as though its on the end of the line.

I know on my line, Altona and Seaholme only have one platform, and they also have very few passengers. Also I think the last few stations on the hursty line also have one platform, due to lack of need for two.

EDIT: lol |ll|lll|, "it passes by dandenong"

Metro made alamein peak hour less frequent, there is a 7.35 then the next is a 7.58 train (23 mins peak hour!!!), now they are all city loop as well and don't stop at east richmond so they are quite full (though still not as bad as other lines)

Ouch

I remember that my line (werribee) had 20min peak services and 10min off-peak service (yeah, wtf) until the new timetable change (now its 10min peak, 15min off-peak). Metro is pretty ridiculous, giving people of the Belgrave/lilydale lines trains like every 2min (may be an exaggeration). I have a friend who lives in Camberwell and he can take one of 15 trains to get to school on time. WTF

I reckon they chucked Balaclava in there just because of the name.

I think those mice have been put on a leash. They aren't really gangs, just a bunch of rebellious high school kids. Though I do remember a couple of years ago there was a full melee involving kids from a bunch of schools, since then there's police going past every hour or so.

I never found glen waverley station that bad... then again I'm not really there past 10pm or anything... There's usually so many people around because of the shopping centre that it's fine...

I've felt the least safe at Ringwood  station. One time I was coming home late and night and decided to take the glen waverley line over the belgrave line because I figured it would be safer. next day I found at at around the same time I was on the train, a stabbing had occurred at ringwood station =/

I saw a bunch of guys bashing and kicking a guy who was already on the ground at Glen Waverley. We called police and everything. This was at midnight but ever since then I've never been completely comfortable there (and I'm there every weekday :()
