Yeah this is a very good idea, Mao. SMF 2 has a whole BUNCH of new features and stuff that I don't even know about yet! So do some digging online and if you see something cool that you know SMF 2 can do that we're not using, let us know here.

Not on the technical side, but can you disable forum signatures? When they take up half the page they're just annoying. Or atleast disable images in signatures.

Also the 'ATAR Notes' header, isn't going across 100% of my page. There's a sizeable piece of white on the right... little css tweaks needed hmmm.

There is auto-necromancy detection. A red reminder text is visible in the quick reply dialogue for posts >120days old. Should change it to something less. (like, 30 days or something)

Respect cap.

At the high end of the spectrum, the numerical value of respect really loses its meaning. perhaps put a cap on it, like +100 as max or something?

good idea, however i rmb enwiabe saying something about how tutors will be ranked in terms of respect or something along those lines? what if latter on we get like 10 diff ppl with the same +100 respect.

Perhaps Respect can just be worded eg (1-10 : contributor 11-20: somethingelse) and then when it comes to tutoring use the actual numbers (I personally probably won't even sign up for it this year anyway if you're going to hold me to respect bias :P )

I'm only suggesting that because you're asking for a change though, I personally think capping it at 100 is just a token gesture which probably takes away more than it adds. Also after a while there will be a large amount of people at that level.

I think at that end of the spectrum, the tutors wouldn't care. :P

-Make each of the VCE, HSC, WACE & SACE forum links on the homepage link directly to the state forums.
-Is there some kind of function where you can enter the page number of a thread that you want to go to?...because currently clicking next several times to get to the middle of a long thread is pretty annoying.
-User customisable option to change the number of posts per page.

Haven't read around much, but two things needed for me:
1. images in sigs
2. latex back up

Both are pretty minor, great job guys!

Do we really need images in sigs?

This isn't really a 2.0 suggestion, but you might want to think about entering a new lot of postcount usertitles to go with the new atarnotes development (I assume the current ones are from 4 years ago?)
