On the topic of post counts as Russ pointed out, with those blocks that increase as post count increases, perhaps change it to a bar or something?

The stars were cool :(

But yeah, I personally think the blocks look bad. A bar would suffice.

Would personally like to see the "recent posts" section upped to 20 posts. What do you guys think?

What about having it changed to a "recent threads" section, so that one hyperactive thread doesn't take over the entire box? Maybe with a bracketed number at the end to indicate how many recent replies?

Yup love it, will probably have to wait a bit whilst the other bugs are sorted though because it's not a default setting.

-Make each of the VCE, HSC, WACE & SACE forum links on the homepage link directly to the state forums.
-Is there some kind of function where you can enter the page number of a thread that you want to go to?...because currently clicking next several times to get to the middle of a long thread is pretty annoying.
-User customisable option to change the number of posts per page.

1. Planned on it... But still need to talk it over.
2. Sort of. You can click the ellipsis between page numbers.
3. Exists. Though you don't have access to it. I'll look into it.

Love this idea.  Should definitely go ahead when things die down.

Also, is this still going ahead?
Like the new website, but where's IB?

There was a cool SMF mod for this... I originally had it implemented, but with all the chaos, it seems to have disappeared. Think Mr. Enwiabe prefers recent posts anyway. But it's definitely something to keep in mind.

I don't think it's necessary to sort universities into states, it just creates more effort clicking through. Thoughts?

I don't think it creates more efforts tbh.  All of the state child boards for universities can be directly accessed from the AN forum homepage.  It will become really cluttered if there are 30 or 40 unis being discussed on a single board.

I would just take the universities currently under the uni board in each of the state forums and move them so they all appear in the national forum uni board under each state, then delete.

Also, if you get time, maybe add UQ and UTAS sub forums because these a popular unis for med at least.

The same needs to be done with UMAT/Buy-Sell/Water Cooler boards because they are doubled up.  They appear on the national forum and then appear again in each of the state forums.

And it was mentioned elsewhere, enwiabe said he was going to introduce an IB board, but maybe re-discuss it with him. I don't think it would hurt to have an IB board.  I mean after all, it can only generate more traffic/exposure which is a good thing.

Here is a pictorial because I don't think I was very clear on the whole uni thing.  :p

I had the same thought as you, but what about interstate unis that don't have their own boards?

Prevent 1 or 2 post accounts from posting links. Recently had a lot of spambots trying to sell viagra.

Don't give me this bullshit about VN being about equality, and therefore not restricting any access dependent on postcount. This is a safety issue.
