Na, need to finish the MEng before you can do that.

No. The chemical systems major is only preparation for a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering. It's the Master's Degree that will qualify you as a chemical engineer and enable you to work as a petroleum engineer.

edit:It says it's "already locked by 'Service-SPML'."

edit2: actually nvm, although it said that I was able to log in anyway

Hey does anyone have a UniMelb varsity jacket or hoodie jumper they want to sell? I'm heading overseas and want to rep properly! PM plz

EDIT: Apparently you can buy them now for 110 bucks at the UniStore. I'd rather look for a second hand one still.

They're $110 now? They're used to be $100 (which is still ridiculous) but in the exam period in each semester they generally have 20% off.

When I was in Boston about a month ago I visited Harvard and bought their equivalent hoodie as a present for my sister. $35.

Yeah I mean, I want some UoM mercy, but not for 110 bucks. It's not like I'd wear it around Melbourne anyway so it only have international value.

Hancock just a question for you - my brother is doing BSc undergrad and then hoping to the M Eng afterward.  If he wanted to go on exchange do you reckon it would be better in undergrad or in postgrad - is it really difficult to coordinate an exchange during the M Eng or was it relatively simple for you?

I think you could get a hoodie from the Co-op (or whatever) for like $50-70 with membership. I swear that's how much I paid for my hoodie (like 2 years ago).

Might just be bad memory.

I also suspect that jack up prices around the time of semester starting/ending/grad etc. :|

Simpak, a question for you.

Is there much point to the (honours) orientation day? What happens? It's half a week before we start, I'd rather not fly down that early.

Thanks!

Has anyone done FNCE10001 Finance 1 as a breadth subject? If so, what did you think of it?

Check up the subject reviews. I was GOING to do it over summer but there was a clash with my other subject so I dropped it. I'm glad I did...the subject reviews for it are awful. Disregarding that one person that gave the subject a 4/5, I think the average rating for the subject, based on another 3 or 4 reviews, is still negative... :P

I'm halfway through it now. It's not as bad as what everybody makes it out to be but it's definitely dry, boring stuff. The lecturer is actually pretty good at explaining stuff, the tutors are ok, the assignments require you to do some of your own research though.
