depends on subject, flora of victoria came out 3-4 weeks into semester 1.

BUT this is at the longer end of subject waits, I wouldn't expect to wait any longer than this!

(That 4-week wait was excruciating no joke)

Was wondering if anyone knows whether it is compulsory for me to have "istudy" if I buy the Accounting Reports and Analysis textbook? If so, is version one ok or?

So I didn't do biology in VCE and reading through the information on LMS.. I feel as though it's going to be kind of overwhelming with all the pracs, work, online tests and all :s Does anyone have any advice?

I heard the BioBytes were really good for people who haven't done VCE Biology, highly recommend you look at those on LMS before you go to your first lecture, that would probably help with understanding the terminology.

You'll get used to it.

Just remember to listen to your lectures, to revise them, and always be aware of what's due. I guarantee you'll be fine. If you don't slack off, you won't do badly.

If it helps, I didn't do bio in year 12 and found, at uni, that biology was horribly unsuitable for me. I hated it. Yet even so, I walked out of first year bio with a 86 (H1) average. The online tests take like 10 minutes. The pracs...well you're not writing a report on those so you should be ok with them. The work in general is annoying as there is SO MUCH ROTE LEARNING to do. Rote learning is 90% of the first year bio course -.- revise every lecture after the lecture if you need to

You'll be fine :) As it happens, students who haven't studied Biol previously tend to do better than those who have. Mainly because those who have don't work as hard to compensate, and because the VCE Biology course is not really all that reflective of what Biology's all about.

It's more a matter of complacency than anything else - people go "I've seen that before!" and then tune out and don't give the content the attention it deserves. Just be aware of this from the start and make a conscious effort to avoid it in your studies and I promise you'll be fine. :)

Rote learning is literally 100% of second year bio.

Postprac assessment is pretty much 4 MCQs on the LMS

Yeah, after the first eight or nine lectures (when they cover all the important parts of high school bio,) people who have and haven't done bio are really on equal footing.

You'll be fine! Plenty of people who've done Biol do well too, don't worry! :p

Yeah doing biochem taught me that. Guess what I'm not doing this year.

I expected it to be like Chem. Thought if I were going to fail something, Biochem would be it. Never have I been happier to be wrong.
