I found first year biology a small step up from Year 12 biology. To me it wasn't exceptionally challenging. Not that I want to put down your achievement of completing the subject!
No worries! :D. Most thought the same to be honest! But what I really wanted to ask was how much of a step up is second year university bio (so for example MCB1) compared to first year bio.
2013-2014:| VCE
2015-2018:| Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) @ UoM
2019-X:| Doctor of Dental Surgery (discontinued)
2019 -2021:| Master of Physiotherapy

Currently: Physiotherapist working at a musculoskeletal clinic. Back pain, sore neck, headaches or any other pain limiting your study? Give me a PM (although please do see your personal health professional first!)

Any questions related to pathways towards studying dentistry or physiotherapy? Gimmi a PM!

Remember, BIOM20001 is difficult because it's a 25 credit point subject that aims to integrate five biological disciplines. This won't be something you'll have to face in second year as a Science student. I can't really comment on what the step up would be like for you though.

Where does BIOL10004 (first year bio) stand then?

The most difficult thing was the pracs tbh. I lost so many marks for not being able to cut up leaves, and at least I know not to do botany :p

I found second year science much easier than first year, but I suspect this is not normal. I did anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology in the one semester and did have any troubles. I just found the lecture content more stimulating in second year, which is probably why I did much better. I would probably not advise taking the "big three" at once. It's lots of work!

Awesome job man, but think of MCB as Uluru whilst  HSF and M2M is Mt Everest   ;D ;D ;D

No way! HSF is more like a small mountain, just with really shit signage.

On average, people do a lot better in HSF than MCB. That's despite the best efforts of the course to teach and assess HSF in an impossible way.

The material in HSF is easier than MCB, but it's just harder to score well because literally all of it is assessed via MCQ and David's questions are just hngg. At least that's what I felt (I did better in MCB than HSF)

You know the procrastination is getting ridiculous when, instead of listening to lectures, you find yourself reading about South American pygmy deer and the cuisine of northern Ethiopia.

Also @ all you people who don't want to botany ever again - I hated it in S1 too, now I'm a complete convert. You should totes do Flora/Fauna or Flora of Victoria and then see how you feel ;) (I know nobody will ever take this advice)

And when you start watching videos on youtube about how to make mascara out of Oreo's and eyeliner out of M&Ms...

I'm glad I'm not alone in this mode of procrastination. Although this time round I've mainly been learning about Sweden...

Spoiler
I should really get a life and stop being so obsessed with Eurovision.
