The pracs in techniques have been ok. I was in one of your debrief sessions last week and your project seems really complicated compared to my case study lmao. Pls hope you're all nice when we do question time today, don't want to be eviscerated.

Haha, it was probably just me being bad at explaining it then because I think the case study you got taught is far more complicated than what I was teaching!  Luckily that's work from like, 2009 though, and not my project I hope we were considered 'nice' although I'm pretty bad at question time.

Really? My case study seemed the most simple out of all of them because it was just the Th1 response to HSV, which has been hammered into our heads since 2nd year. Tbh I think the case on Trm was the most interesting theory-wise, and you at least made lecture-style slides.

Too used to 12 am midnight / late night deadlines for my other subjects.. turns out the deadline was 12pm noon today

Haha, okay yeah maybe it seemed easier because you had had more exposure to it but ours was like not even a real experiment imo, just confirming known facts without a very interesting aim.

I missed my Microeconomics MCT deadline today too (at midday) because all the Chem and bio stuff are at 4-5. 5% down the drain (I know it's not the same thing since it's my breadth and a first year subject but still frustrated the heck out of me)

Yeah it seems that Techniques is like that - learning new ways to confirm what we learnt in Principles, which is prob why there's hardly any lecture material.

I don't really remember because I kind of zoned out when other people were presenting (didn't help when the last 3 case studies were all about the flu) but sometimes it felt like people were being asked on things they hadn't learnt before? I think difficult questions were asked in all of the sessions at least, in my friend's session there was a demonstrator who was like yeah I'm being a bit mean lol. The good thing was that it seemed that just answering was more important than the actual answer itself.

Yeah the important thing is that you attempt the question - if people were getting hard questions they couldn't answer, they weren't necessarily marked down because it was more about seeing how you think about stuff to come to a conclusion than knowing the right texbook-like answer itself.

It is a bit of a learning curve, although honestly I found the jump from first to second year worse then the jump from high school to first year (although I did a uni subject in high school, and was lazy in first year, so whatever).

I too have found the jump from first year to second year more confronting. Who knows what third year will be like. XD
