I don't know if this is the right place for this post, but in terms of student activities and campus life, which uni has it better, Monash or Melbourne?

And how important was this aspect in terms of choosing which uni was right for yourselves?

Uni life prob similar for both unis. Maybe Melbourne edges out due to proximity to the city. But I would choose based on degree.

location was the main factor for me but monash's double degree system was highly tempting

Student activities is pretty similar in terms of clubs. There have been events where clubs from different uni's come together for pub crawls etc.

In terms of choosing the right uni, the main concern is the course (do you want to do a double, have a specific course already in mind etc), travel time and scholarships. I have no idea about UoM scholarships but I know Monash hands out scholarships like fliers so that may be a factor since uni isn't cheap. Don't be too concerned with the social aspect because every uni has their clubs which have their events that promote interaction.

Yes, thats true

I agree, Melb uni is a lot more closer to me than monash

ahh decisions, decisions,

Ah yeah I was thinking that even if I went to Monash I could still go to events hosted by UoM

Thanks guys!

Keep in mind that a lot of people drop out of one of their double degrees (I've heard that up to 50% of those in Arts/Science drop into one, although I find it surprising that it's that high honestly.)

If you want to try both degrees and end up deciding on one, the double degree system is great - although a similar thing can be achieved with clever placement of breadths in first year.

I moved interstate for uni, so it wasn't really a factor for me, but the biggest thing I'd consider would be location.

I just realised that the library has a copy of the text book I bought on Friday. Does anyone know if the Co-Op gives you a refund?

They do but in 2 forms: Either the full amount in a gift card or 90% of the amount you paid back in cash

hey by the way guys, another question

I have some books from my first year. Some of them aren't in the prescribed books anymore, can I still sell it to Co-Op?
