Email your subject coordinator and politely ask to discuss your mark and the possibility of looking at your exam.

I just came back from an exam inspection session and they said they don't do remarking of exams. If you failed then it has been marked twice anyway as is procedure in all subjects I think. Most subjects also remark all h1s too

What exactly do you do at these sessions? Do you get to check over your answers and see which ones you go correct/incorrect?

there were about 4 of us in there and he just gave everyone their exam to read through and if you wanted to know why you lost marks somewhere you could ask him and he would tell you. for a couple of my questions he said he wasnt sure why i lost the marks but the uni doesnt do remarking and he said he will email my tutor and ask why he deducted marks and 2 hours later he emailed me and i got a good reason for it so yea thats basically it.

I think that would be a course-based thing. Maybe for that subject they won't remark, but it might not be a blanket rule.
Also, even if they didn't remark your exam, usually they could possibly reconsider some of your other assessment eg midsems, essays.

As with everything, if you make enough noise you can likely get something out of them. You'll need to have a legitimate issue (ie you can't just complain because you want your 79 turned into an 80) but if you feel that your exam was inappropriately marked, then statements like 'we don't remark exams' will not hold up. I've seen the system from the perspective of a subject coordinator and students can and will make complaints that compel the university to act, if reasonable.

Does anyone know if it's possible to quit a concurrent diploma at the end of third year? I'm hoping to be able to complete a BSc + applied maths diploma in 3 years. However, if I'm denied overloading somewhere, or due to subject availability, etc. issues I'm left with one or two subjects dangling into a 4th year, is there any catch in simply quitting the diploma? (this diploma is under Chancellor's scholarship, so if I quit, would I have to pay?)

Also, I'm guessing that under Chancellor's Scholar, transfers within Melbourne Uni will void the scholarship? Is this correct?

I don't know about withdrawing a diploma, but I will warn you: if you cross-credit four subjects, that's still another 4 extra subjects you have to fit in. Either do breadths only over summer (there are like no sciences over summer) or overload a lot. It's doable (I'm doing it) but don't expect it to be easy. If you're doing chemistry...overloading when doing any practical chem subject just sucks. I've done it twice and it's just annoying.

A minimum of 50 credit points (usually four subjects) and a maximum of 75 credit points (usually six subjects) with no more than 37.5 credit points (usually three subjects) at level 1.
