To any of you guys wondering, I did end up going to the case study competition. Not only that, but our team came runners up!!  :)
No regrets of doing it at all; it was an awesome experience. I'd argue that I learnt more in that 3 hours than all my time at uni thus far. The content was never overwhelming, but certainly challenging at times. I was one of two first years amongst a cohort of mostly third years. I kinda expected this from the start, but the best part was getting help from 3rd year kids who had interned at Big 4 companies (EY, Deloitte, kpmg, pwc). Funniest part was that I forgot to mention I was a first year to anyone there until the very end, so all along they assumed I was a 3rd year actuarial student LOL  ;D
No wonder they asked me to crunch the numbers..................
To any other first years, I'd highly reccomend you apply for these case study comps from now on, if you have the time. The real world application skills you gain is nothing short of crucial for any commerce student.

Check under the notices section of LMS. Also, they notify you via email if you're a member of the group, which in this instance was MMI.

For BCMB20005 is it normal to have ERs that are like 60+% in similarity?
It was a template so pretty much everyone has the same report with different numbers from results etc but I'm getting paranoid
It's fine. They know.

Ooh very nice (should try applying for pro bono consulting positions too)! What was the prize for the team that came first? :)

There's also events for it on FB too since they like advertising events like this on their pages too!

Been a while since i wrote an essay.
One of the criteria is;  "minimum of 4 academic sources, " .

Is this referring to articles found on "Discovery" with the ticked "peer reviewed" box ?

id ask your tutor just to make sure but for marketing and management subjects ive done in the past the main requirement for a source to be academic is that it's peer reviewed. also you can usually use the textbook as another academic source if you need to find more

I saw what I assume to be jaffies wearing their lab coats and safety goggles on the way home today. I could understand it if someone wanted to put that stuff on while on the tram if they were cutting it close to making the lesson on time, but it's definitely not appropriate to be wearing those things on the way home. They were probably excited and wanted to look cool, but I'm not sure they realised how silly they looked. Facepalm.
