Never hurts to let your faculty know what's happening in advance. In the event (and let's hope this doesn't happen!) there are complications or something, you'll be in a much better position if you've given them a heads up :) Good luck with the surgery!

thank you! :) I probably will because it will be difficult for me to study the week before the exam

07-Jun-2016   Tuesday   08:30:00   PSYC20006   Biological Psychology
09-Jun-2016   Thursday   12:15:00   JAPN10001   Japanese 1
14-Jun-2016   Tuesday   16:00:00   PSYC20008   Developmental Psychology
23-Jun-2016   Thursday   16:00:00   GERM20009   German 9

This is so good, holy shit. Last year both my exam periods were crammed into like 4 days and the stress was ridiculous.

Woah, I have all of my four exams on these exact days and I do none of the same subjects as you. lol

Yeah, it's a pretty sweet deal.

This semester I have three 8.30 exams out of 4 (but at least they're spread out - with two in week 1 and two in week 3)
(Actually, Mac laptops and desktops run OS X, iOS is for iPhones :) )

Unfortunately I believe the only way to go back is to uninstall the current OS and do a fresh install of the old OS, and then restore your files from some backup. Do you have a timemachine backup or some other backup from the OS you want to go back to?

It may be easier to find a workaround for whatever issue you're experiencing that makes you want to switch back?

Yeah, I have 4 8.30 exams this semester and it really sucks.
Whoever decided to put anat and phys on the same day...I'm not grateful for your decision.

Woohoo, also got a Dean's List letter in the mail today - scraped over the line (and I really do think it was a scrape, with my Syntax and Animal Behaviour grades) for a clean sweep of three years! My exam timetable is looking good this semester - 14th, 15th, and 21st, but I also have an exam in week 12, which makes it a bit less amazing.

Anyone know if there's any issue or penalties with submitting special consideration documents later rather than earlier (within 4 days)? I missed an MST today but probably can't get a HPR until Saturday

As long as you submit the HPR within five days lodging your application you'll be fine.

How does this work for 1st years?

You don't get one (which makes sense - you don't have any final marks yet!). If you're on the Dean's List for the total of first year, and do science, you'll get a letter around mid April-early June next year telling you you made the list, plus a certificate and a note on your transcript. There's no ceremony for Science Dean's List, though.

In BIOM30002 we have the interactive neurodegeneration lecture next week, and the staff are strongly pushing us to read the article and make the effort to attend. Ordinarily I would go but it's going to be rather inconvenient for me in this instance. Past students, what would you say?

i've had no serious gripes about the university throughout my whole time here and love to recommend it to people but i have to admit the new stop 1 is horrible. the people at the desks are very very unhelpful, and generally unknowledgable about topics that require any depth of knowledge at all. theyve been spread far too thin with their knowledge and expertise. after 3 visits, each one consisting of talking to people whose responses were akin to that of a brick wall, the sum total of information i got out of them was all stuff that i had found within 5 minutes of googling, and i had to end up emailing relevant academics directly to get clarification on administrative issues that they should not have to waste their time with. pls bring back student centres
