Not only is it an enormous privilege to work with kids who haven't been given the chances they deserve to reach their awesome potential, it's actually just so much fun. Everyone is so lovely and keen to get to know everyone, it's really great.

I did an essay subject this year in summer and barely scraped a H1. What I basically did was direct my efforts towards performing well in assessments only. Taking lecture notes and prescribed readings in the end weren't that important as coursework itself wasn't assessed. However, it may be helpful to refer to lecture material in your essay and lecture material may give you a sense of direction for the essay, so those are the main advantage of knowing what's in the lectures.

That's what I was thinking. My hope is that, as a breadth, the workload is still a bit lighter than my core subjects. Thanks.

Hate to say, but I did NOT find my essay subject easy. I did it over summer and spend ALL of my time on that damned essay. That said, not having an exam is a plus.

Heh, that will probably be me too. But breadths are all about getting out of our comfort zone, so hopefully I'll be able to weather it out.

The subject is basically half calculations and half qualitative questions (but this depends on the lecturer).

The lecturer for 2015 semester 2 used to do derivations for some of the important formulas like compound interest, simple interest, annuities and perpetuity. But a lot of the maths questions involve knowing which formula to use and what to substitute into those equations to find the final answer.

If you can handle methods then you're more than capable of doing this subject. It's just a matter of recognizing formulas and subbing things in.

The maths itself wasn't hard, it was knowing when and where to use each formula which is where it gets somewhat difficult.

Is the workload of PHYS20008, ANAT20006 and PHRM20001 in one semester manageable or too heavy? Can anyone who has completed as similar array of subjects please shed same light? Cheers!
