To anybody who has done The Secret Life of Language, is the textbook necessary at all? And does it have to be the Australian version? I've found a PDF file online of the textbook, only it's the American Version.

When I did it in 2014 I didn't have the textbook and had no issues.

Day 2 of uni and lecture capture already not working...

This is ridiculous and so frustrating. Looks like I might have to attend my 8am lecture tomorrow, despite it being my only class. =_= I've always had this suspicion that it's to do with the new opt-out system in place with lecture recordings and some disgruntled person from high up deciding to tamper with the program.

We're seeing some issues accessing lecture recordings. The Lecture Capture team are working on it, and hopefully it'll be up again soon

And that was 10 hours ago. I would have thought that after this occurring all the time last semester they would have found some lasting solution by now. :/

I set my alarm for 6am this morning and when I got up I checked the lecture capture and saw it was working. I downloaded what I needed and rolled back into bed. Such a good feeling - as long as I can access my 8am lecture recording.
