Anyone who's taken Taxation Law 1 in the past - are the books absolutely necessary? The only review is from 3 years ago and doesn't note if the book is important or not, plus I'm really reluctant to shell out $180 for books..

Easy as pie, shouldn't take that long either. If you've got a mate who's done biochem, work with them. We have to do a heap on bioinformatics (Y)

Okay it actually took me three days to complete, so I completely underestimated the assignment and was not aware of my incredibly poor research skills. This semester might be a long one. :P

Biomed/sci people, what's the difference between the Immuno major on its own and the immuno + micro major?? Thanks!
Pls do not send me a pm about Aspire applications. The process has vastly changed since I applied.

In the Microbiology and Immunology major, you have to study microbiology to some extent: either completely through the microbiology specialisation, or partially and in conjunction with immunology through the infections and immunity specialisation. MIIM20002 is a prerequisite for Biomedicine students wanting to take this major. In the Immunology major, you can study just immunology if you want, although there's limited scope to work some microbiology in if it interests you. MIIM20002 is not required for the major, although it may be necessary if you do opt to work some microbiology in. What you end up deciding on will obviously depend on what you're interested in. I know a lot of the people who opted for the straight Immunology major weren't as interested in all the memorisation that is involved with microbiology and instead wanted to understand how the immune system works; although one could make the case that the two disciplines are best studied together. Regardless of the decision you make, you're assured to have subjects that are really well run, although I think you'll also have your work cut out for you.

anyone have an idea of how hard the maths is in an electrical systems major? For example, would electrical systems (3rd year) use maths that is the same or higher in difficulty than engineering maths?

In terms of the undergrad course only, it will be applications of Eng Maths (in Electrical Device Modelling), and an extension of parts of Eng Maths (like Fourier Series) in Signals and Systems, plus some additional areas.

It does get a bit harder, but at the same time, so does your capacity for learning.
