hi everyone (:
Just wanted to ask whether you guys think it would be better for me to do calc 2 or linear algebra next semester .. D:
I did calc 1 this semester lol

*sigh* I don't even know what I want to do at uni ): ..
Do linear algebra! It will give you a break from calculus and give you simething new and interesting to learn. I did Calc 2 and Lin Alg this semester and I found Linear Algebra far more interesting-calculus was a bit repetitive and formulaic. If you like remembering steps and methods like differential eqs then do Calc but if you want to learn something a bit more abstract (it isnt that abstract as someone pointed out. There are many applications to what you learn that you are taught and can grasp) then do Linear :)

final release date for results is july 12th ^^

i'm doing accelerated math this semester, but we covered linear algebra which i actually found quite interesting. i was really confused by it at first because you work with vectors in more than three dimensions, and it annoyed me that i couldnt really visualise things. but once you get your head around things, it becomes really enjoyable. 8D

So, apparently exam results are rolled out at different times by each university faculty and for each subject, though the final release date is the 11/12th July. How much earlier than the final release date do the first results typically start to trickle through the system?

What are my options if i fail the first semester of biology and i wanna do human structure and function. it requires two semesters of biology. It doesn't seem like i can repeat it in the summer semester and i don't want to do the biology relating to flaura and fauna

You would have to take it again in Semester 1 of 2014 and not do Physiology or Anatomy until Semester 2 of 2014, ie, it wouldn't be that much of a drainer to your study plan.  You'd probably just take a breadth in the summer semester to make up for the loss.

Wait: to get this straight you're talking about HSF the major or the second year Biomedicine subject?
I don't know what your course is...

Not for a while, maybe like 1.5 weeks before the official release date earliest.  Especially for first year subjects - they're in the first week* but there are so many people.
Also it could be quite shitty to not even be done with the exam period and fail something and be completely put off for your last exam(s), so I think they try to avoid that scenario.

Np!  You had me worried for a second haha, I think failing a first year Bio would have had a bigger impact on Biomed cores if you had been doing Biomed?  You might have some trouble doing some electives though if you do fail, might have to end up asking if you can take some courses whilst enrolled concurrently (ie some electives will ask you for two semesters of Biology as well).  However this is all speculation so you should hope for the best rather than worry too much about this now! ;)

Do we ever get to see our exam scores, or is it just our final mark for the subject?

Normally you don't, but that's not to say that you aren't allowed to find out. If you're interested to find out, just email the subject coordinator.
