Is this marking scheme the reason that short answer questions are done in script books and not question and answer booklets like VCE? Because for subjects with a visual component such as chem and econ, it's a mighty pain.

I hate the script booklets -.- the printed lines on it are too thick and dark. When you draw graphs the lined paper makes the graph look distorted sometimes.

Hmmm, if one tutor did one Q or a section wouldn't that be horribly inefficient?

i bumped into my chem demonstrator the other day in the chem building. he said that he has about 200 papers to mark and that he marks the entire thing. apparently they try to give each one a huuge pile of exams to mark so that its more consistent.
but the bio markers and a math tutor i spoke to said that they just mark the one question a thousand or so times.

For the exam, if I were to bring in my ipad & exercise book (i.e. not leave it in my bag in the shipping container outside) would that be okay? I mean, I wouldn't have it under my seat (I'd put them both in a case and give it to the supervisor to leave on those tables at the back of the exam hall) but otherwise it shouldn't be a problem, right?? I'm just worried what with all these policies being taken so seriously eek!

Just for future reference, if any of you guys plan to bring in your iPad you are allowed to just leave it (switched off) under your table during the exam I initially gave mine to the supervisor to leave at the back of the hall but she said that the rules have changed now so it's okay to leave it under your table :-)

Also: Re: exam length, looking forward to Biochem tomorrow because they give you plenty of time.
Bacteriology and Immuno were so frigging long I thought I was going to die.  Literally walked in, two hour exam with multiple choice, then wrote 20+ pages (not kidding) in two hours.  That's having no time to think!  My entire body was like shaking from trying to write so fast and I'm pretty sure it's impossible to read anything I wrote on either paper.
Also I hate it when they make you write your student number out in words on every. single. page.

Yup.  And in numbers.
Every page too not just every booklet.  Tried not to start new pages just so I didn't have to write it AGAIN.

Does it matter if for some of my exams, I didn't fill in some of the info correctly on the answer book? Like I forgot to write what questions I answered on most pages in that box in the top right corner (I did number my questions as I was writing however).

And...On the front cover ove the book where it says tick the questions you answered, I ticked just "2" because I thought it asked how many script books I used 

Maybe Im just getting too paranoid now that I've finished my exams and I have nothing else to think about.

I did consider that, but my faith in UMSU was partially restored by their release a month or so back saying that they'd increased the percentage of lectures that will be recorded from next semester onwards? So maybe this is something else they could do in the same vein?

Idk man we don't use those script books in my department, do you want to write your student number in words on every. page?
